The students at the University of New Mexico Electrical and Computer Engineering Department are using an integrated set of lectures and labs to better understand basic communications systems. The labs are written with the idea that the students not only need to make measurements, but also learn how to write their own Virtual Instruments (VIs) supporting the modulation schemes being studied.

The IEEE Comsoc Hands-on Lab Exchange aims to encourage lab based hands-on experimentation and sharing of best practices by facilitating the exchange of lab-tested course materials among communications instructors.

To get started: First create an account by selecting the SUBMIT YOUR COURSE link and selecting Registering for an account. Once logged in you can create a new course by specifying the title, abstract, and uploading files associated with your course. Submission contents should include syllabus, lab procedures, source code, homework assignments, grading rubrics, instructor notes, and any other content needed to begin utilizing the shared course materials immediately. Please organize public files in the Open Access section and instructor only content such as Solutions in the Member Only section.
